Hella Innovation Ltd is an Aerospace and Automotive consultancy with both design and project experience.

Through working knowledge from Nacelle Systems in the Aerospace industry to Electrical Systems in the Automotive Industry a great deal of experience has been gained in CATIA V5 and Enovia to compliment further proficiencies such as MatLab, ANSYS CFD and Solidworks with respect to design software.

On top of this a great deal of project knowledge has been established on the release process of large projects (such as the Russian MC-21 Engine or the new McLaren sports car)

Previous Projects

McLaren Automotive

Working alongside the electrical design team at McLaren Automotive to produce a new generation of Mclaren sports cars. Providing expert CAD support and project management to ensure that McLarens latest addition to its range is provided on time and within budget.

Heavy involvement in the design process for switches, window - door control system, alarm systems, vehicle ECU systems, keyless entry system, antennas, etc. This involved finding optimal locations in the vehicle through design studies (including harness design) for all electrical components and collaborating with all appropriate parties both at McLaren and working with a diverse range of suppliers from across the globe in order to agree location / materials before signing off on components.

Tasked with overseeing all electrical systems / components during vehicle virtual builds in order to deliver electronic systems for a new McLaren vehicle due for launch in 2017.

Bombardier Aerospace

EBU Design and Integration with the PW1400G Engine on Irkut MC-21 Nacelle

In charge of Fire Detection System and Harnesses. E3D implemented for harness routing. Utilising CATIA V5 Macros importing points for the Drains Mast aerofoil profile during Drains and Mast design. Worked on the Overheat Detectors, Hydraulic and Fuel System, PFC's etc.

This role involved creating and modifying CICR's and PICD's for communication between Bombardier and P&W / Irkut.


Director Daniel Hella is a Design Engineer from Belfast with both Bachelors and Masters degrees in Mechanical Engineering gained at Northumbria University, Newcastle upon Tyne
